Spotlight on Success: What We’ve Achieved

  • Record-Breaking Productions
Prince George’s County has logged over 250 productions since its inception! From indie dramas to commercials to blockbuster films, our neighborhoods have become a multi-faceted backdrop for film production.

  • Expanded Crew & Vendor Network
This year, we’ve onboarded 30 new local vendors (catering, equipment rental, set design) and hosted professional training workshops. This growth is fueling a stronger, more resilient film ecosystem right here in Prince George’s County.

  • New Technologies in Film

Professor Tewodross Williams introduced groundbreaking technologies in film, connecting the dots between STEM and the film industry.

  • Community Film Grants
The Film Office awarded 10 micro-grants to community filmmakers, enabling projects that explore local stories.

  • What’s to Come

The Prince George’s Film Office announced the 2025 Call for Films.

Founder and CEO of Megamind Media, Tressa Azarel Smallwood, shared her vision for a new film production studio located in Prince George’s County.

As Prince George’s County’s film scene continues to grow—boosted by a thriving festival now in its fourth year and an expanding reputation as a regional production hub—the future looks brighter than ever for storytellers in the DMV. With PGFF‑Take Four (September 25–27, 2025) firmly on the calendar and film office support energizing both local talent and out‑of‑state productions, the county is ready to emerge as a creative powerhouse. In 2025, the state of film in Prince George’s is not just healthy—it’s thriving, driving economic growth, cultural pride, and cinematic innovation all at once.
